Celebrate with pictures

Since I am behind on sharing my life with you I want to fit in as much as possible without taking up a lot of posts. So to do that I am going to share with you pictures from our Christmas celebrations from 2011.

I hope you enjoy!

Daisy and LB took part in their first Christmas play. They were supposed to be animals in the manger scene. Sadly we were running behind and couldn’t find the supplies needed to be sheep so we pulled out the Halloween costumes and were baby Jesus’ pet dog and cat.

Apparently Mary and Joseph also traveled with a buffalo and a monkey.

We then had a repeat of last years run in with Santa Clause

They really prefer their daddy in Santa’s seat

Our Christmas celebration at home started on Christmas eve morning. Since Christmas was on a Sunday we decided this would be easiest. So my sister, dad and Lew’s uncle Tommy who lives close to us came came to celebrate with us!

Daisy and LB got a kitchen from Buce for Christmas. (My dad’s name is Bruce. We tried to get them to call him Poppa B, which some how turned to Buce. Oh well)

I’m pretty sure they love it!

They also love helping everyone open their presents!

Our stockings were full of sippy cups and camo hats.

It’s hilarious because these cups look like coffee mugs so when they drink from them they think they are drinking “coff coff” (which they call coffee) like their mommy. Very cute!

Our Christmas eve morning was very low key. A few presents, yummy breakfast but most of all great company and family time!

Up next, Christmas Day…Stay tuned!

Let’s Start with the Cruise…

Happy 2012!

I hope you have missed me because I sure have missed you all! I have had an extremely busy last couple of months and really had a hard time deciding where the blog fit into my schedule. Sadly it hasn’t really fit at all lately but I am really looking forward to a fresh start in 2012. Instead of listing out all of my goals for the year I am basically just going to try and play a little catch up on what has been going on in our house over the last month. And maybe by the time I catch you up on all of that I will have figured out what my goals for the year will be!

So, let’s start with the cruise! Mine and Lew’s anniversary is December 15 and we try to do something special every year. For the last 3 years we have taken a week long trip. In 2009 we spent a week in Park City, UT, in 2010 we spent a week in Whistler snowboarding (which you can read all about here, here, herehere, here, here, here) and this year we took a seven day cruise!

We had an amazing time on the cruise but have already decided that this coming year for our fifth anniversary we are going to do something a little less and spend a few days in Chattanooga and stay in the hotel we stayed at on our wedding night and for our first anniversary. The week long vacations are fun but have gotten to be a little much right before Christmas. I am already looking forward to a calmer holiday travel season.

Alright, back to the cruise! After a little travel drama (nothing better than forgotten luggage…) we got on the road to Florida! From Knoxville we drove through North and South Carolina instead of south and through Atlanta. I loved the drive but probably just because it was something different.

We made a stop a Moe’s for car riding fuel. I had my favorite…the nachos…

Vegetarian nachos with pinto beans and tofu to be exact. Definitely the best.

After a very long drive we stopped in Titusville to spend the night with family meals and miles! Sadly I did not get any pictures because I am a recovering terrible blogger Sad smile and was really exhausted. Meghann’s family was kind enough to let us crash their Christmas party and spend the night and then take us to our port. Meghann picked us up on Saturday when we returned home and it was great to catch up for a few minutes!

Our room on the cruise ship was in the front of the ship. We had an awesome view from our window but the ship rocking felt differently because the way our room was set up and caused me to not feel so great all of the time.

I tried to take a picture of Lew through our window but really just got a cool picture of myself.

One of my favorite things about this cruise were the Christmas decorations. I was so excited to see garland hung and trees decorated!

A lot of our trip included these things…cards and paper to keep score. When Lew and I went on our honeymoon we played lots of rummy and decided we needed to take it up again this trip.

In Cozumel we rented a jeep and drove around the island. Probably the best vacation decision we have ever made. For forty dollars

Next stop..Mahogany Bay at the Roatan Island of Honduras. The most awesome stop of the trip. A friend of mine and Lew’s actually lives on the island and offered to give us a tour. Jenna thank you so much Lew and I both had an amazing time and look for to visiting again!

The best food I have ever eaten. Something about deep fried corn tortillas, beef, rice, spinach, cheese and hot sauce. Best thing ever!

For our anniversary we spent the day on these lounge chairs in Costa Maya.

And had massages on these tables oceanfront.

We had an awesome time but I am so glad to be home. Next cruise will not be 7 days and we will be taking friends!
