The Difference in Boys and Girls

My boy and girl are such different babies! Daisy is super easy. She crawled a couple of times today and she gets so excited when cheer her on. LB could care less about crawling and just smiles when you cheer for him. If Daisy hurts herself she just looks at you, LB hurts himself you would think it was the end of the world. Daisy doesn’t have any use for a pacifier, LB won’t sleep without his. Daisy will put herself to sleep, LB will scream and scream in his crib unless he is super sleepy. I say all of that to say this…I have done everything the same with the both of them and they are still so different. At first we did not want to give either a pacifier and then we went to only giving it during the day and now it seems like LB has to have it to sleep. I guess that just goes to show that our plans don’t always work and babies are just different…

Now on to the food…
My morning started out with the usual…well close to usual…this mornings smoothie in a bowl turned into a smoothie mountain. I did everything the same except today I added a big handful of ice.
My smoothie included:

  • 1 cup of skim milk
  • 1 frozen banana
  • handful frozen strawberries
  • 1 scoop of vanilla whey protein powder
  • Big handful of ice

I think I like the addition of ice but maybe just a few pieces. It cut down on the sweetness but it was too watery this time. I will try again tomorrow.

And I of course topped my smoothie mountain with Udi Granola. I have finally decided what I don’t like about this granola is the cranberries. When they get cold they get very hard and hurt my teeth :(

After breakfast I headed to the Y and took a class called High Intensity Training, which was awesome! I fully expect my legs to be sore tomorrow. After class I did a few rounds of sprints on the treadmill and then headed home with my babies.

Post workout snack closely resembled last nights dessert of a clean chocolate cupcake with peanut butter. (I promise I will post this recipe but I think I need to try it one more time to do a little perfecting.)

For lunch I decided I was feeling another egg and veggie scramble. In the mix:

  • Chopped garlic
  • Onion
  • Red Bell Pepper
  • Homegrown Tomato
  • Fresh Mushroom
  • 1 egg
  • 3 egg whites
  • Topped with Avocado and Feta Cheese

I really enjoyed this lunch! It might not look that appealing but it was very tasty. There was something about the salt from the feta cheese and the creaminess of the avocado that made this so good.

My afternoon snack was carrot sticks with roasted pine nut hummus.

Tonight I was very excited about cooking dinner for Lew and I…the only problem was he had a late lunch and wasn’t hungry. :( So I cooked for myself anyway and put the leftovers up for my lunch tomorrow.

On the menu:

  • Roasted Vegetables: Red potatoes, mushrooms, broccoli, red peppers
  • Corn on the Cob
  • Sauteed Tilapia (cooked with a little smart balance butter and garlic) Lew said this was the best fish I have ever cooked! I must admit it was pretty good!

After dinner we had a couple errands to run and just happened to stop by TCBY where I had a small cone with chocolate/vanilla swirl.

Happy 6 Months LB & Daisy!

I cannot believe that six months ago I gave birth to my two beautiful babies! Mine and Lew’s life has changed so much over the last 6 months and I absolutely love it!

Our first picture together…

Daisy looks like she is telling LB a secret :)

A few stats:
Lewis Bond III was born February 26, 2010 at 8:45 a.m. he weighed 5 pounds 3 ounces and was 18 inches long. (When we left the hospital he weighed 4 pounds 13 ounces)
Today he weighs 13 pounds 7 ounces and is 27 inches long.

Daisy Ann was born February 26, 2010 at 8:46 a.m. she weighed 5 pounds 2 ounces and was 17 inches long. When we left the hospital she weighed 13 pounds 9 ounces.)
Today she weighs 13 pounds 6 ounces and is 26 inches long.

Both babies were born healthy and we left the hospital 5 days after they were born.

The three of us shortly after they were born. (Lovely I know!)

This was when the babies were 3 weeks old taken in our front yard! They were so tiny!

Happy 6 month Birthday! I love you sweet babies!
