Good Evening Bloggies! I hope you have all had a wonderful Friday! Mine has been pretty good. Our day has including working out, playing with babies, eating, laundry and vacuuming! (I hate to vacuum but have decided I need to make it part of my daily routine because they babies are becoming more mobile and I do not want them crawling around in dog hair all the time!)
Of course our morning started with with smoothie in a bowl! For some reason I have no picture of this smoothie We had a busy morning so I guess I just forgot. I tried the same recipe as yesterday but used a small handful of ice and believe it was just about perfect.
Banana Strawberry Smoothie:
- 1 frozen banana
- handful of frozen strawberries
- small handful of ice
- 1 cup skim milk
- 1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder
Maybe one day my breakfast posts won’t be so boring! For now my theory is, why mess with a good thing? And also it is so easy with having to feed both babies and get us all out the door to go to the Y if I know what I am doing without having to think about it.
Today’s workout was simple, 45 minutes on the elliptical machine doing the interval program. According to my half marathon schedule I needed to run 3 miles today but I was super sore from yesterdays High Intensity Training class and just didn’t feel like it. The elliptical was just what I needed. Hopefully I will be ready for the 6 mile run I have scheduled for Sunday!
After my workout I picked up my dad who came in to spend the weekend and we went back to the house to feed babies and meet Lew for lunch. Since I had so much leftover from dinner last night I thought a repeat was in order so I got to work.
These photos are from last night but I didn’t post them so I thought I would share today. For the leftovers I placed all the veggies plus some corn on the cob in the iron skillet and heated in the oven on 400 degrees for about 20 minutes. I also cooked two more pieces of tilapia for dad and Lew.
We also had a salad made with
- Spring Mix
- bell pepper
- homegrown tomato
- feta cheese
- balsamic vinegar
My Plate (which included a little cole slaw from Tuesday Night:
This turned out to be an awesome lunch!
Today’s avocado adventure was much better than yesterdays. I believe yesterdays avocado was bad I tried it after both babies wouldn’t eat it and it was definitely way too ripe, I felt terrible. So today I ate some of it before I made theirs. This was a great avocado and LB again loved it and ate every bite. Daisy, not so much! After three bites she was done! I don’t think she likes it
Our dinner was much more exciting that avocado….OUTBACK! Lew received an Outback gift card for his birthday so we decided to put it to good use!
I had the Salmon “light style” (basically just without butter) and a plain sweet potato. It was very good and I couldn’t tell it was missing the butter other than the fact it wasn’t running all over my plate.
On the agenda for tomorrow…blackberry jam making and a corn hole tournament…fall is in the air!
