Dessert for Dinner :)

After lunch I did a little work then made my way to my least favorite place-Wal Mart! I used to like Wal-Mart but since I have had the babies I cannot stand it! I use my grocery shopping time to relax and relax is the last thing I thing of when I walk into Wal-Mart! Since I have had my babies I prefer Ingles. It is so much quieter and I am not tempted to make so many impulse choices. Well, today I had to run into Wal-Mart (I literally ran because it was pouring down rain) to buy a baby shower present and birthday presents for the part we went to this evening. I went into Wal-Mart for five things, I left with:

  • Baby Gift (Bottles and Diapers)
  • Birthday Gifts (2 packages of Hot Wheels Cars)
  • Face Wash
  • Zyrtec
  • Floss

(Those are the things on the list, here are the “other” things I bought)

  • Powerade Zero (They were only 78 cents! We paid over $2 at the gas station the other day!)
  • Package of elastic headbands to run in (I walked past them looking for the floss and remembered how much I used to love putting one in my hair while I ran)
  • Package of Luna Bars (They were less than $1.00 a bar! At Ingles they are $1.50 a bar!)

(These three things I will use but I would have never bought if I weren’t at Wal-Mart)

After Wal-Mart I went to Ingles to pick up my groceries. I did not need much but we did have to buy baby food for the first time! While planning for our babies I was determined to make my own baby food. I had no interest in ever buying food from the can. Well, it turns out the twins qualified for a program in Tennessee where they can get free baby food. So, today was my first trip to pick up the baby food and I was overwhelmed to say the least! My choices were Gerber or Beech Nut. After reading every label on every jar I decided on Beech Nut. The ingredients are the vegetable and water. I think I can live with feeding my baby that. So, I came home with lots of baby food and decided we would try sweet potatoes tonight. (More on that in a minute.)

Before we could feed the sweet potatoes we had to pack up and go to a birthday party! Mommy had a banana on the way.

Once we got to the party it was time for LB and Daisy to try sweet potatoes! (I tried it first and it tasted just like a sweet potato so I was happy)

Daisy loved hers!!

LB liked it too but it took him a little while to figure it out. I guess he was expecting avocado!

Here is My Dinner…

Yes, this was my dinner! I was starving and didn’t have time to eat before we left the house and it was either this or a hot dog and chips. I chose this and my hubby chose the hot dog. Oh well…sometimes you take what you get…and yes I did enjoy it :)

Tomorrow morning: experiment number one with making a green monster smoothie! Wish me luck!

oooh that cupcake looks good!! I agree with you on Wal-Mart. We make that list and try to stick to it, but it never works out. It is so hard to believe that they are already at baby food age. I need to see them! Hope ya’ll have a great day. Love you!

  2. sometimes you just have to have a cupcake . . . as long as you enjoyed it! (There are days when nothing on earth is as good as kid’s birthday style cupcake! I don’t know if its the frosting or the sprinkles, but its true!)

    1. I definitely enjoyed that cupcake! And I also enjoyed the two pieces of cake I had today! I normally can’t turn down birthday cake.
