Today was filled with lots of cake! A baby shower and a Birthday cookout equals lots of cake for me. Thankfully my day started out with a very healthy green monster smoothie.
I have decided my green monsters should really not be called that because my strawberries turn them an ugly brown
Today I made a double batch for Lew and I:
- 2 cups skim milk
- 2 scoops vanilla whey protein powder
- 2 spoonfuls of yesterday’s peanut butter frosting
- 2 frozen bananas
- handful frozen strawberries
- spoonful of plain Greek yogurt
- 2 cups of spinach (cooked in microwave with water for five minutes.)
I loved this smoothie! What was even better was that Lew loved this smoothie too! He said it tasted like he was eating dessert for breakfast. (Probably the maple syrup in the “frosting”)
After breakfast we got ready for church and left for the first service. This was a long one…Daisy was sleepy and did not want to give it up so her and I fought through the service and finally she was asleep the second we got into the car.
After church service number two we made a quick trip to Subway and back home to eat. Some ladies and I from church were hosting a baby shower and I had exactly 45 minutes until I had to be back to set up.
In all the hurriedness I almost forgot to take a photo of my
very boring sandwich.
6 in. sub on wheat:
- Roasted Chicken Breast
- Banana Peppers
- Cheddar Cheese
Chipotle Rice Chips and Hummus on the side
Next up…Baby Shower Food
I can’t turn down cake!
This evening we went to a cookout! Which also had cake!
There are no photos But my dinner was a veggie burger (it got burnt on the grill and was not yummy!) and a pickle and some cantaloupe. I then had to consume more cake! There was white cake and chocolate. Possibly one of the best chocolate cakes I have ever had! The hubby and I enjoyed it!
I hope everyone has an awesome Labor Day!
