After last nights twelve mile run I felt SICK! As I told you in last nights post I have never ran 12 miles. The most I have ran straight is 6 and that was before Lew and I got married! However, I made it (the first 10 miles I ran and last 2 walked up hill)
Needless to say I was exhausted! Everything hurt! I decided I would go to bed around 9:30 but I am not sure how good of an idea that was. I woke up at 2:30 hurting so bad. My left knee gives me some pain when I snowboard and it was definitely bothering me while I was trying to sleep. After tossing and turning I went back to sleep and even slept in and missed our first church service. I think this helped me to feel better. Last night I thought I had the flu I felt so bad but apparently that is just my bodies reaction to doing something completely foreign to me.
I read a lot of healthy living blogs written by ladies that run marathons and they make running 15 miles sound so easy. I think my experience reminded me that the majority of people could not run 12 miles and made me feel very fortunate for my body and what it does for me.
Today’s eats were somewhat boring…
Cereal for breakfast
Baked chicken with salad and carrot soufle for lunch
Egg sandwich for dinner
I did make something special for Lew…he loves egg and olive. This is basically egg salad with olives added and he loves it! I hate it so I don’t make it unless he asks for it because I just never think of it. So, tonight he asked and I made it.
Egg and Olive
- 6 boiled eggs
- Slice Eggs (I slice them one way then turn and slice the other way)
- Add about 2/3 cup of chopped green olives, 1 tbs. mustard, about 1/4 cup mayo.
- Mix together
