Ugh…

Well…tonight has not been very blog worthy so I will give you a quick recap of my personal training session this morning.

Since I am running my first half marathon this Sunday :) we decided it would be a good idea to stay away from my usual heavy on the leg workouts. (I am working on getting my legs back into snowboarding shape for our trip to Whistler in Dec.) I was very thankful for this so today we did lots of arms and back. I am sure this will help me push through those last few miles!

To tell you the truth I can’t remember what all we did but I had a great time and feel my upper body got an awesome workout and my abs are definitely reminding me of all the abs we did as well.

I also want to thank Matthew for helping me get to this point. I never thought I would be able to run a half marathon but with all of his help and pushing me in our workouts every week I really feel like I am ready. Thanks Matthew!

Anyhow…on to tonight…

We got home late and I put the babies down to bed and was in a very frustrated mood. I could not decide what to have for dinner. I quickly decided dessert was in order.

Here is what I came up with

One piece of crustless pumpkin pie with a few dark chocolate chips. I warmed the pie for 25 seconds in the microwave. I then added the chocolate chips and warmed for another 30 seconds.

Delightful :)

What do you eat for dinner when you are frustrated?

A 2 Cup Kind of Day

Today is one of those days that requires a second cup of coffee!

Pre-baby days I had at least one cup of coffee every morning. After I had the babies I didn’t drink as much coffee because it seemed all I did was feed babies, eat and sleep. If I drank coffee I might have missed out on one of those precious hours I enjoyed between every 3 hour feedings.

Once we were able to eliminate “mandatory” night feedings (our babies were so small and were able to eat so little we had to wake them up in the night to feed them every three hours for the first two weeks or so) I started to drink more coffee. When the babies started sleeping through the night I began my workout routine and didn’t make time for coffee before leaving for the gym. I now wake right up (probably thanks to my routine) feed babies, eat breakfast and head out the door.

I might not need the coffee before I leave but I sure need it when I get home. I crave coffee after workouts. I normally have one cup (courtesy of my Keurig) and I am good for the rest of the day. Today however, required two.

I love coffee and pretty coffee mugs! :)

I think it is strange that I drink less coffee now that I have children but that is what works for me.

Today for breakfast I made a pumpkin smoothie but I was not very hungry and only drank about half.

My lunch was something I don’t normally eat and I am still not sure how much I liked it.

  • Can of tuna
  • 2 boiled eggs
  • tomato
  • Arnold’s whole wheat sandwich thin

I mixed my tuna with greek yogurt, spicy mustard, pepper, sea salt

How many cups of coffee do you “need” a day and when do you drink them?
