I am completely over Halloween! Tonight was the third night in a row for Halloween festivities and I am sure glad they are over. LB and Daisy opted out of dressing up for tonight’s Trunk or Treat at church. I mean, they have no need for walking around getting candy anyway. So, they spent time visiting with church members while Lew and I handed out candy in the parking lot.
We have had such a long weekend! I am so tired I can barely get any thoughts together but I wanted to give out some quick blogging love
Today’s breakfast was a definite winner…
My favorite smoothie topped with crumbled pumpkin bread
This morning before church I threw a quick tortilla chicken soup together in the crock pot and it was ready and waiting for us when we got home!
I topped my soup with a little sour cream and lots of cheese. This was good and quick.
After lunch I went to help set up for a baby shower and we had lots of fun girl time!
After our last Halloween event for the year we came home, put the babies down to bed (at 7:30…I love that they want to go to bed early!) and I had a quick chicken sandwich with sweet potato chips.
Quick Question:
Yesterday I made pumpkin bread to serve at the baby shower this afternoon. While baking a baked two separate breads; a healthy version and a full fat/sugar version. I kept the healthy bread here and took the other to the party.
I have a constant debate going on in my mind about what I bake and cook to take to events. I am afraid people want like my healthier versions so I make what they want. I think I need to stop worrying about that and start helping by giving healthier choices. Maybe this could be a new resolution of mine…stop making unhealthy things just because I know that is what people expect.
How do you handle making food for events at church or other places? Do you stick to your healthy roots?
