Saturday night’s Gala dinner was food blogger heaven! There were so much good beautiful food and awesome people in one place. I can’t wait until next year! Well, actually I can…I am so full and ready to get back to normal eating. Over the past 24 hours or so I have been reading other bloggers recaps of the Gala dinner and have been trying to figure out how to make my recap just a little different. Through all of my thought I reminded myself to just be myself and my blog and it will be different.
The evening started off with cocktail hour outside of the Grand Hall in the Ferry Building
Hors d’oeurves were provided by Paula LeDuc Fine Catering and were all amazing.
We chatted and made new friends. One of those new friends was Jeffrey Saad who appeared on The Next Food Network Star a couple seasons ago and is getting ready to premiere his new shoe United Tastes of America on the Cooking Channel.
We sat down to beautifully set tables to enjoy an amazing four course meal.
The food began to flow…
I have never like beets but I loved this dish. It was weird and wonderful all at the same time.
Scallops are normally not something I go for but after eating these perfectly cooked scallops I am hooked. I am also considering trying to cook fennel in my own kitchen some time soon.
The lamb was very tasty but I am not a big meat eater so I just sampled a couple of bites. The butternut squash and mushrooms were possibly my favorite two things of the evening.
Dessert! I was stuffed by this time but still managed to eat everything but the cake. The cheese crisp on top was my favorite part. I tried to eat it with the fruit and the cream. Again, weird but oh so good!
Such a lovely dinner!
Stay in touch for the recap of Sunday’s brunch and mine and Lew’s sight seeing adventure!
On today’s agenda; walk to the Golden Gate Bridge then catch our 1:00 flight home. I am so ready to see my beautiful little babies! I miss them so much!
