At 12:15 am (central time) we pulled into Lew’s parents house with two sleeping babies. Luckily they slept the whole way! However, once we got here it was a slightly different story. It seems as though our babies are a little more sensitive to their surroundings than they were before. We fed each baby, changed the diapers but they still were not thrilled about going to sleep in separate pack n plays in the same room as me, Lew and Millie (the dog). Daisy (my daughter who never passes up an opportunity to sleep) was not having any part of her pack n play. I think she was a little scared of her new surroundings. So, what do you do with a screaming baby? Cuddle! The problem is that my Daisy has not liked to cuddle since she was about 2 months old. However, last night she wanted to cuddle and the only way she would calm down is for me to hold her and rock her and I must admit I loved it! I by no means wish to have to cuddle her every night and rock her to sleep. I love the fact that she likes to lay in her bed and “talk” and coo for awhile before she falls asleep but after the day I had yesterday it was just what I needed.
Yesterday was possibly the longest day I have had in awhile. I was frustrated ALL day long! The babies would not nap at the same time, they had runny noses and would scream any time they couldn’t see me! It was long….
Thankfully the six hours in the car were quiet while we drove all the way across the state of Tennessee!
This morning I woke up to two very happy babies!
Time for honesty…I love to eat at Thanksgiving! So in preparation for tomorrow I am trying to eat on the lighter side today.
My breakfast
One piece of whole wheat toast with peanut butter and blueberries. Soy milk on the side.
The rest of the day is full of cooking and playing with cousins!
