Before I get to all the travel fun I must give you the names of the winners of the Saag’s Specialty Sausage giveaway.
Natalie (the sweets life): I’ve never tried chicken sausage but I would love to! I always see it in recipes but never remember to try it!
Cara Perkins: I LOVE chicken sausage. We cook healthy in our kitchen at my house and are careful to read labels for ingredients. I like that you mention this sausage has a short list. I also have a radio show on http://www.fishbowlradionetwork.com called Healthy Now…Healthy Later where we teach easy, delicious, healthy recipes and encourage people to get their kids cooking. You can search for Healthy Now…Healthy Later on facebook and click like to become a fan. Please feel free to post on my wall any time! At Healthy Now…Healthy Later we say that we ALL have health in common so we might as well find fun ways to do it right!
Jill: I love chicken sausage! I haven’t had it in well over a year though (moved to a very small town and actually haven’t seen it in the stores). I used to buy it at Trader Joes. I believe it was the chicken/apple sausage. Would love to try this brand!
Melissa O: Have tried chicken sausage in a few recipes…do prefer it as traditional sausage is soooo fatty! wolverina401 at gmail dot com
Congratulations! I will be contacting you all for your mailing info!
On to vacation! I am extremely exhausted as I am sure you can imagine. After a 4:00 a.m. wake up call, two 3 hour flights and a 4 hour car ride we are in our condo and getting ready for bed. And yes, it is only 7:30 p.m. here in Whistler, Canada.
I loved that our shuttle this morning was called Driving Ms. Daisy. It made me think of my sweet babies who I really do miss so much. It is hard to explain because the time away from them is so great but I still miss their smiles and giggles and feeding them bottles and putting them in bed. However, I do know there will be plenty of time for that next week.
I ate a quick Starbucks oatmeal in the airport and hopped on the plane for our first flight. Coffee was consumed and Sudoku was played.
During the second flight lots of snacks were consumed. We were starving! After landing we finally found the rental car pick up and then spent a little time in the parking garage while the boys loaded the snowboard bags on top of the car. Never leave home without straps for a roof rack. You never know when you will need them
Of course after getting on the road we were past ready for lunch and made a quick stop into Qdoba. I had the Vegetarian Fajita Burrito.
In this giant burrito: rice, pinto beans, guacamole, grilled veggies, lettuce, tomatillo salsa, roasted corn salsa, lettuce and cheese. It was SO good. Just what I wanted.
This is how it was really eaten
I did two things I have never done today. Go to Canada and drive across the border into another country. I have been to many countries and went to through customs many times but never drove through customs. It was a little intimidating but after watching the Border Patrol reality show last year I have a true appreciation for what they do for our country.
As soon as we got into Whistler we checked into our condos and I took a few photos and unpacked a bit. The funny thing about this trip is this is the first boarding trip we have stayed in an actual resort and got separate rooms so we could have a little privacy and a little more space.
View from our room
And then of course we must eat again. We ate at a really cool pub with really crazy lighting outside with the heat lamps. Everything looked orange.
I had a veggie burger with sweet potato fries. Two of my favorite things!
I ended my evening with a piece of this amazing chocolate bar. Organic dark chocolate with hazelnuts
Love this!
See you tomorrow after my Roxy Snowboard Camp! Wish me luck!
