Christmas Parties

Let me tell you, I love Christmas parties! I love everything about them. However, they sure do put a damper on my blogging. At least tonight’s party did. After stressing about getting my house clean in less than 48 hours after being gone fore 10 days I stressed about getting the food ready and then stressed  because the babies would not stop crying. Thankfully the second Lindsay walked in the door they both perked up and were excited to see her and were happy the rest of the evening.

Tonight we had some of our small group along with anyone from the church that wanted to Christmas Carol over for sweets and finger foods after they caroled. It was fun but after having a long day I didn’t really pull the camera out other than to take pictures of LB in Matthew’s hat.

Now I am ready in bed and looking forward to a day full of laundry tomorrow. Wish me luck that I don’t get lost in all the piles I am going to make.

I Need More Cardio!

After a week of vacation I am in serious need of some cardio. Snowboarding is a serious workout but it in not very aerobic. It also didn’t help that I ate A LOT while we were in Whistler. I am also having some issues with my right elbow and knew lifting any weights was not an option so I thought it would be a good day to reinstate a cardio routine. In the past I loved running and doing cardio but since the  half marathon I haven’t done much in the cardio area.

The day started out with a little jet lag. The last two mornings I have not wanted to get out of bad. Thankfully LB cuddled with me for an hour and didn’t want to get up until 8:00. After feeding the babies I had a slice of toast with peanut butter and we headed out the door.

I ran 2 miles on the treadmill (in 23 minutes, I did run/walk intervals, run for 3, walk for 2). I felt good after but definitely was able to tell it had been a couple months since my last run. I finished with 20 minutes on the elliptical.

When we made it home I made a quick lunch: Open faced veggie burger topped with feta and cooked spinach with a side of sweet potato fries.

Now on the agenda for the rest of the day:

  • clean living room, kitchen, dining room and bathroom (we have a post Christmas Carolling get together tonight)
  • Find time to buy stamps so I can mail Christmas cards
  • Go to the grocery store

I am really curious as to how I will get it all done…

By the way, the babies met Santa last night…
