Dinner Out

Lew here…

I was so glad that I was able to get back to the gym today. I was very happy that my back felt back to normal and I was able to get started on this weeks workouts. It is not very fun to start your first of five days of workouts on Wednesday. But I am motivated and know that I will get my workouts done no matter what. I felt like I did better this week than last Monday and felt like I got a good workout but when I was finished I was frustrated with myself. I knew I had worked out hard but I feel like I could have pushed myself a lot harder. That will be my goal for tomorrow.

Ashlee here…

Tonight we had dinner out. Well sort of. A very sweet couple from one of our churches invited us over for dinner and of course we accepted. One thing Lew and I love to do is have dinner with families from our churches. It is so fun to go into people’s homes and have a meal with them. The only hard thing about this is the timing. LB and Daisy like to go to bed between 7 and 7:30. We often start our bedtime routine around 6:30. This is not something Lew and I planned on doing with the babies but it is something they like to do. Actually their early bed time is sometimes very inconvenient for us but we make it work. So for dinner tonight we just scheduled it early and it worked out perfectly.

Snack

This afternoon we had to replicate yesterday’s yogurt bowl. The only difference was instead of honey Chobani Greek yogurt we used Strawberry Chobani Greek yogurt. It was just as good!

Dinner

For dinner tonight we had a great spread of different foods and of course I had to try all of it.

Don’t you love the crappy angle of my food pictures when I am holding a baby in my lap…it looks a lot like the picture angle from last Wednesday night’s dinner with a baby in my lap Smile

When you finish your workouts do you ever feel like you should have pushed yourself a little harder?

Still Snowing…

As I have told you many times I love snow! I don’t just love snow because we love snowboarding and going to cold places. I love snow at home and I love when it snows out my window during the day. What I love even more is being about to get out and the roads not be to bad. That is how today turned out to be. Lew had a meeting at 11:00 this morning about 30 minutes from here so last night we made a plan. As long as the roads weren’t covered in snow when we woke up we would go to the Y, workout, shower and the babies and I would ride to his meeting with him so we could have some time out the house. So, when we woke up there was no more snow on the roads so we got ready and headed out. Lew and I did day 1 of 5 for this weeks workouts. As you can tell we started a little late this week but have 4 more days in the week to get in our 4 workouts and are determined to complete them. Today was leg day and we completed the same workout we did last Monday. The good thing is that it definitely seemed easier. The bad thing was I think we both could have pushed ourselves a little harder.

Breakfast

For breakfast I made smoothies for two. Mine of course was served in a bowl with bear naked granola on top.

Lunch

Since we were out and about today for the first time this week we went ahead and stopped to have a quick lunch out. We decided to try a little Japanese Grill. This was NOT a good decision. See, we were about 30 minutes from home and had no knowledge about this restaurant and should have just kept driving. It was terrible. The salad dressing tasted like water. I ordered steamed vegetables with steamed rice with the teriyaki sauce on the side. The vegetables were cooked in so much black pepper I could barely eat them and the onions tasted just like butter, not onions. Needless to say we will not be eating there again.

Now Lew and I are going to cuddle on the couch with LB and Daisy before we get ready to head out to our next item on the agenda for the day.
