For the past two days I have been living with a sick baby boy
. He has not wanted to eat or sleep and has basically made our life miserable. I am one of those people that needs 8 hours of sleep each night. (I’ll take 9 if I can get it). When LB and Daisy started sleeping through the night our life became a lot easier. So the fact that LB hasn’t slept through the night in over a week in itself makes me feel like crap. In the last two nights he hasn’t slept for more than 3 hours at a time. So this morning we went to the doctor. Of course when we got to the doctor he acted like nothing was wrong. After a strep test and a blood test the doctor told us he has viral infection (probably in his throat) which is causing him not to want to eat because it hurts.
I say all of that to say this, when we go to the Doctor’s office we get to go to Sam’s. Which is good for the food supply but hard on the wallet! At my last trip to Sam’s we bought a case of Chobani Greek yogurt so I was very excited about what new items I would find today. The first new item (well, new to us) I found was a huge package of Wholly Guacamole.
The greatest part of this guacamole is that it only has a few ingredients and it tastes awesome!
I also loved that it came in three small containers and you are able to freeze them for later use.
The second thing I found today was a ton of Keurig cups. Well, not a ton but 80! Yes, 80! And I got a GREAT deal on them!
I am very happy with all of our purchases today.
Here are some of the things I always purchase at Sam’s: organic salad mix, organic fresh spinach, fruit (blackberries and blueberries), laughing cow cheese, pita chips, hummus, pesto and diapers.
Here are things I buy there as needed: paper products (toilet paper and paper towels), laundry detergent and dog food.
Other than those things we just pick up things that we think we will eat or use all of before it goes bad.
Breakfast
Today for breakfast Lew and I each ate an egg biscuit from Hardee’s on the way to the Doctor’s office.
Lunch
For lunch I made my take on a fajita chicken salad.
- Spring Mix
- 1/2 leftover chicken breast (from Lew’s lunch out yesterday)
- Spoonful of guacamole
- grilled onion and bell pepper
- blue cheese
- homemade dressing
For Lew’s lunch I made him a quick quesadilla and salad.
In his quesadilla
- Mozzarella cheese
- Uncured all natural turkey bacon
- guacamole
- grilled bell pepper
Even though I was skipping the carbs in my lunch I tried Lew’s quesadilla and it was perfect!
As I have blogged I enjoyed a piece of dove milk chocolate and a piece of ghiradelli dark chocolate and a cup of Spicy Eggnog coffee.
Workout Update
Last night we finished our 5th workout for the week! We were pushing the time limit but we finished! yay!
