Having children is an ever learning process. I learn something about my babies every day and they change every day. Over the last few weeks our schedule with LB and Daisy is ever changing. It seems as if they are going through a growth spurt or something and are super hungry and LB has returned to his 5 a.m. wake up time ready to down a bottle. So, I am having to learn how to feed them 3 meals a day along with their bottles. (Obviously, these are very small meals). The key to sleep for my babies is making sure they have taken in enough calories throughout the day that they are full for the 12 or so hours they normally sleep. We are also dealing with the idea of having to start weaning from the bottle over the next couple months. LB and Daisy are 11 months old today! I cannot believe it! I know our life is only going to continue to change but I am very excited about it!

On to today…
Breakfast
Today Lew and I were both wanting toast but there were only 3 pieces left. Since we both eat very filling breakfasts one piece of toast is not enough. So, I made Lew two pieces of toast. (One with peanut butter, one with earth balance “butter” and cinnamon) For me I made one piece of peanut butter toast and a big green smoothie.
Green Smoothie
- 1 container of peach chobani yogurt
- 1 cup vanilla coconut milk
- 1 frozen banana
- lots of fresh spinach
I loved this smoothie! However, I did not intend on buying coconut milk at the store. I meant to buy almond milk but they had put a new brand of coconut milk where the almond milk normally is
. It is definitely not my favorite but I am not going to let it go to waste.
Workout
Today’s workout was upper body day. I love working on my arms, shoulders and back. I think because it is where I see the most improvement so it makes me happy
. I also like upper body day because it always seems easier than the other days. Don’t get me wrong, it is a GREAT workout, but it is nice that it’s a little easier.
Lunch
I am trying REALLY hard to not let food in our house go to waste. So, even though I hardly ever cook pork bacon we had a few slices left over from Sunday night so I decided to make breakfast burritos.
I ate two burritos and am having to keep myself in the living room for a few minutes because something about them just did not satisfy me. They were tasty thought.
Each burrito had scrambled eggs (a mix of one egg and three whites for four burritos), a little shredded cheddar cheese, and one slice of bacon.
Now I am off to pack and probably have another cup of coffee, the babies and I are going on a little trip ![]()

I too prefer almond milk to the coconut milk for smoothies and cereal… cooking with coconut milk is a whole different story, although I prefer the canned variety for that!
