Girl’s Night Out

In the life of a mom of eleven month old twins girls night out consists of a trip to Wal-Mart 15 miles down a curvy back road so we can get ice cream at this little local dairy bar! I think all mom’s need a girls night out every now and then and tonight’s might have been grocery shopping but it was fun! We drove to a wal-mart that I had never been to but I loved it! It was one of the newer stores and it was empty! I felt like we were the only people in the store. Which was great except when we were looking for some help Smile. After shopping for lots of veggies and dinner for church tomorrow night we headed to get ice cream! I had a small cone with chocolate and vanilla swirl soft serve. It was really good. I know, I am suppose to be cutting back on carbs but that can wait until tomorrow.

I am really excited about finding cooking everything I bought! After having two boring meals today it will be nice to have some fresh food.

Dinner

I knew I would be having ice cream tonight so I wanted dinner to be on the light side.

Pan grilled tilapia and cooked carrots.

I cooked the tilapia with Earth Balance butter and 2 cloves of pressed garlic. For the carrots I boiled them in a little chicken stock and water. LB and Daisy love cooked carrots!

Now I am going to finish the biggest loser and give my legs and booty a little break after jumping on that box so much!

The Big Box!

Breakfast

After eating pizza for two nights in a row I woke up feeling yucky and bloated, which I hate! I definitely know I am needing some serious veggies in my life and plan to make a produce run this afternoon. Lew and I have been looking over the meal plan that comes with the P90X training plan and have decided to cut some carbs out of our daily eats. We both eat a lot of carbs! We both also need to lose some weight to be at a healthy weight. I have 20 pounds to go to be at my pre-pregnancy weight and Lew is trying to be down to 200 lbs. by his 30th birthday. So I have decided eating 50% carbs for every meal is probably not a great idea. So, we are working on incorporating more lean protein and fresh vegetables in our meals. I am also being a little more strict with this on Lew’s meals so my meals will still contain carbs (in the forms of whole grains or fruit) and Lew will probably only have carbs in one meal a day (in the form of whole grains).

Today’s breakfast was a mix of scrambled eggs (a mix of whole eggs and whites) with a little cheddar cheese.

I had a few strawberries and a cup of coffee with organic half and half and truvia with my eggs. Lew had just eggs and cheese.

Workout

For today’s workout we did a cardio pyramid style workout. Part of the pyramid is box jumps. Today I tackled this…

I was so proud of myself! For today’s workout the first 30 sec. circuit is jump on box. I normally jump on a step with 5 risers. I have been eyeing this box since I made it back to the gym after having the babies. I was so proud of myself! I used this box for each of the 30 second circuits totaling 6 sets of 30 seconds! My booty is hurting this afternoon!

After our workout we took the babies to swim class. Daisy was so excited! When we walked into the pool area she started trying to jump out of my arms. It was so cute!

Lunch

I said I was going on a pizza detox but I am not all about wasting food so I had two slices of leftover homemade pizza. I also had more strawberries Smile

Obviously I am eating carbs today! Hopefully after my trip to the grocery store this afternoon I will have something else to eat.

I am very proud of my box jumping! What are you proud of this week?

What is your feeling towards cutting back on carbs?
