Since I have been away from my blog for the last week I thought it would be a good idea to play a little catch up and give you all an overview of what has been going on in the Ash & Lew Plus 2 household lately!
This post will be completely and totally random, but isn’t that the point of this blog anyway?
But first off a little business. If you read yesterday’s post I showed a picture of my attempt of healthy eating this weekend. Well, my good friend Mark pointed out that I did not show pictures of all the Moe’s I ate! Since yesterday was the first time Mark has read my blog I thought he deserved a shout out. So yes, after the terrible Subway I definitely hit up the Moe’s vendor for nachos on more than one occasion. (Keema, you better make sure he reads this )
Now, back to current randomness…
Since we are back in town for a couple days I am trying to get back into a routine with the babies and have decided to start going to the gym earlier in the morning. So, today I went to the gym for 30 minutes of intervals on the elliptical followed by the “Big 10”. While on vacation Mark and Lew did the “Big 15” (sets of push ups then sit ups, starting with 15 of each, then 14 of each and so on…) Well I made the first two sets (10 and 9) doing the push ups on my toes and then had to drop to my knees. That was super tough. I could definitely tell it has been a couple weeks without strength training. During the push ups I felt like I pushing up 1,000 pounds. I felt great when I finished.
Back to babies, we made it to the gym by 9:00 and were home by 10:30. LB and Daisy napped until 12, ate lunch, we went to Wal-Mart, came home then we all napped from 2:30-4:30! I think I might have caught up from the lack of sleep from the weekend. I sure hope so anyway.
Hopefully that will be our new schedule. Once I get going I like it much better than leaving for the gym at 11:00 and the babies only taking one nap a day.
I also started reading New Rules of Lifting for Women and I am really enjoying it. Over the last couple months I have learned that I love lifting weights but when I am on my own I have no idea what I am doing. I really need a plan and I am thinking that is just what I am going to get from this book. I also really enjoy all the info and the authors sarcastic form of writing. I really think if you are trying to better your health it is a must read.
Lastly I am getting ready for a girls weekend in Charleston, SC this weekend and I could not be more excited! If you have any recommendations of places to go or things to see in Charleston please comment!
I promise to be back tomorrow with pictures! LB and Daisy have grown so much!
